Animal AdoptionAt AAPI, we want our animals to have forever homes and not bounced around, therefore; if we do not feel the animal is best suited for your needs it will NOT be adopted to you. If they get the animal home and are not happy, you may exchange it for another. or if you adopt a pony for your kids, when they grow out of it, you can exchange it for a horse. If, for what ever reason, you are unable to keep the animal, you MUST return it to AAPI. (unless you have someone in mind and they go through the paperwork process and are accepted.) When we receive new animals, they are vaccinated as soon as possible. If they are sick, injured, malnourished or otherwise unhealthy, they are rehabilitated and allowed to recover before being vaccinated. When ready, they are wormed and have their hooves trimmed. We do our own vet care here on the premesis unless it is extremely serious, then we call for a vet. Our Adoption process begins with the potential adoptive "parents" completing our Adoption Application. Once finished, the completed application is sent to the PO BOX address listed on our "Contact" page. After successful background checks, the hopeful adoptees are invited to come meet the animals. If all goes well with the meeting, arrangements will be made to transport the animal to its new home.
Horses for AdoptionJagJag is the son of Sierra, born here at our facility, like his mother he has two blue eyes and is a medicine hat. He is still a stud but you would never know it. He has been started under bitless riding and doing wonderful. He stands, loads and has fabulous manners both on the ground and in saddle. Jag is a very friendly and playful guy, he loves to play with the other ponies. Jags sire, ,comes from the Colorado rangerbred and Sundance F-500 bloodlines. SierraSierra was locked in a stall and left alone for years. She is not ridable due to her fear of someone on her back. She would require a good bit of training for her to be rideable. She needs to be enticed with grain to be caught but once caught she has wonderful ground manners and is a true sweetheart. Sierra is a medicine hat o-splash paint with two blue eyes. She gave birth to Jag at our facility four years ago. BooBoo is a very even tempered sorrel pony. At this point he's too young to be ridden, but he will stand for the farrier and to be brushed. He doesn't bite, kick or fight. He came to us with Bug after being malnourished and neglected by their owner. See how far I have come on the before and after page. BugBug is very sweet, sorrel gaited pony. He came to us with Boo after being severely malnourished and neglected by their owner. He stands but is still too young to be ridden.
